Wardogs' third season will launch on November 12, introducing a new urban map designed for close-quarters combat. Alongside the new map, a "Limited Mode" will offer an alternative gameplay experience by restricting weapons, ammunition, armor, and vehicles to create a more level playing field. Current restrictions include FMJ-only ammunition, a Tier 2 armor cap, and a reduced selection of attack vehicles, aiming to preserve the feel of early-to-mid-game combat.
Developer Bulkhead has also announced that seasons will now be three months long, an increase from previous durations. This change is intended to provide players more time to achieve their goals before each wipe and allow the development team more time to prepare future updates. Progression pace will also be adjusted to align more closely with Season 1, addressing player feedback that Season 2 accelerated the journey too aggressively.
"Season 3 is about giving players a new battlefield to learn together and a progression journey worth spending time on," said Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer. "Longer seasons give everyone more room to reach their own goals, and give us the time to properly develop what comes next."
In addition to content updates, Bulkhead has utilized machine learning to analyze 187 million hours of gameplay, leading to the banning of 185,000 accounts. This ban wave targets exploiters, real-money traders, and gold-farming networks, with permanently banned players losing their server-hosting privileges. The studio plans to introduce a player trust score in 2027.
Bulkhead also confirmed that more significant metagame changes, including a new progression system, are planned for 2027 as the game moves toward its 1.0 release. Full patch notes for Season 3 will be available before the launch date. Wardogs, which launched in Steam Early Access on September 10, received praise in a Eurogamer review for its fresh take on the genre.
