Slitherine has unveiled an updated roadmap for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, detailing upcoming additions to the turn-based strategy game. The plans include a new narrative downloadable content pack scheduled for Q4 2026, alongside a further free update in Q1 2027 and another new faction DLC in Q2 2027.
Battlesector originally launched with a campaign featuring the Blood Angels against the Tyranids. Subsequent DLC introduced other playable factions for multiplayer and other modes. The "Deeds of the Fallen" DLC, released earlier this year, added a 12-mission narrative campaign where players could control the Sisters of Battle and face off against the Orks. The upcoming content suggests a continued focus on expanding the single-player narrative experience.
Prior to the new narrative DLC, a free update is expected in October, which will likely include balancing adjustments and quality-of-life improvements, a common occurrence for Battlesector since its launch. The game has seen significant post-release support, with the addition of new modes such as Daemonic Incursion, Planetary Supremacy, and the roguelite Crusade mode, which recently reached version 1.0.
The roadmap indicates ongoing development for Battlesector, with players anticipating further additions. While specific factions for the future DLC have not been named, the inclusion of another playable faction alongside narrative content suggests a sustained commitment to expanding the game's roster and story.
