Owlcat Games has announced that the final downloadable content for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, titled "Processional of the Damned," will be released in December. This expansion marks the conclusion of the cRPG's narrative arc, which launched in December 2023 and has been praised for its writing, characters, and story.
The "Processional of the Damned" DLC will introduce a new storyline that integrates into the main game's quests. Players will have the opportunity to recruit Stella, a new companion described as a "miraculist" with powerful psychic abilities. Raised by the Ecclesiarchy, Stella is an unsanctioned psyker whose powers manifest as devastating psychic flares, though she remains vulnerable to the perils of the warp and potential madness.
In addition to the new companion, the DLC will feature a new Archetype, the Zealot, which focuses on melee combat. A new gameplay feature called Madness will affect all companions, and new enemies from the Arch Enemy and Aeladari factions will also be included. Like previous DLCs, "Processional of the Damned" will be fully integrated into the main game, adding new quests throughout the existing story.
Owlcat Games is currently also working on "Dark Heresy," another Warhammer 40,000 cRPG, and "The Expanse: Osiris Reborn." Despite these projects, the studio has expressed openness to the possibility of developing "Baldur's Gate 4" if presented with the opportunity, viewing it as a significant challenge.
