Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader's story-concluding final downloadable content, Processional of the Damned, has been delayed to December, developers Owlcat Games announced. The studio also revealed the companion central to this expansion: Stella, an unsanctioned psyker who is described as a miracle sent by the Emperor and sheds tears of blood.
Owlcat Games cited the need to ensure quality as the reason for the delay. "Despite our best efforts to deliver the expansion by September as originally intended, it has become clear to us that it won't be ready in time," the developers stated in a Steam update. "That's why, to ensure we deliver the experience players deserve, we have decided to delay the launch. The release window will be set to December 2026 and is not expected to move any further."
Owners of the game's Season Pass 2 are being offered refunds via Steam customer support due to the delay. This refund will remove Processional of the Damned and the Infinite Museion DLC from their Steam accounts, potentially breaking save games if those DLCs were active. Players who choose to refund and still wish to play their previous saves will need to purchase the Infinite Museion DLC separately. The Appearance Pack, also included in Season Pass 2, will be made free and integrated into the base game for all players, with its platform release to follow slightly later.
Regarding Processional of the Damned itself, Owlcat Games provided details about Stella, who is characterized as a Miraculist. Her bio states, "Her eyes bleed, and the cracks of her cold porcelain skin haemorrhage when she becomes a conduit of His will, yet such is the price of bringing retribution to the xenos, the mutant, and the heretic." Raised by the Ecclesiarchy as a living weapon, she is perceived by her order not as a witch or mutant, but as a divine miracle. However, she is secretly an unsanctioned psyker.
Players will face choices concerning Stella's development, including the option to enhance her Psychic Trail ability into a potent weapon, attempt to save her, or embrace her "madness and damnation."
Beyond Stella, the DLC will introduce a new archetype focused on bludgeoning weapons, a new "Madness" feature that will impact all companions, and new enemies from the Arch Enemy and Aeladari factions. The expansion is positioned as Rogue Trader's final chapter.
