Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition, a remaster of the 2011 action title, may be expanding its platform availability beyond its initial PC and Xbox Series X/S release. Recent ratings from the US' Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) have indicated the game is on its way to PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Master Crafted Edition was released in June of last year, a surprising move given its limited platform announcement and release. The exclusivity to PC and Xbox consoles, even with its inclusion in Game Pass, raised questions at the time, as Game Pass releases do not typically preclude wider platform availability.

While the ESRB page listing the PS5 and Switch 2 ports was updated to remove these platforms shortly after the information surfaced, this is not believed to be an error. Observers suggest the ESRB rating likely preempted an official announcement, with the platform details expected to be reinstated once the new ports are formally revealed.

Concerns have been raised regarding the reception of the Master Crafted Edition. The game currently holds a "Mixed" user review rating on Steam, an improvement from its initial "Mostly Negative" score at launch. The hope is that any future ports for the PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 will avoid similar critical reception.
