Nintendo has announced the latest wave of classic games coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service for July. Headlining the additions is Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, a foundational title for the mischievous antihero's solo career, originally released for the Game Boy in 1994.
While technically part of the Super Mario Land series, this entry largely shifts focus from Mario to Wario, establishing his distinct personality and gameplay loop centered around collecting treasure across side-scrolling levels. It marks the origin point for many elements seen in subsequent Wario Land titles.
Joining Wario Land on the Game Boy library are two other titles: The Sword of Hope 2, a JRPG, and Fortified Zone, a top-down shooter.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will also gain access to two Game Boy Advance titles. This bundle includes Dr. Mario and Puzzle League, offering a pair of classic puzzle experiences for subscribers of the premium tier.
