Opening Night Live 2026 featured the debut gameplay trailer for Warlock, an upcoming title from Invoke Studios. The footage provided a first look at the game's mechanics, protagonist, and its blend of Dungeons & Dragons fantasy with third-person action.
Players will assume the role of Kaatri, a Warlock voiced by Tricia Helfer, known for her role in Battlestar Galactica. Her patron is portrayed by Maggie Robertson, who previously voiced Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village.
The gameplay demonstration highlighted Kaatri's magical abilities for both environmental puzzle-solving and combat. In one instance, she manipulated the environment by sticking a loose rock to a wall to create a platform. Traversal was also shown through a short-range teleportation spell to cross a wide gap. Combat sequences revealed Kaatri swapping places with an enemy just before a larger monster attacked, and using dark magic, specifically black tentacles, to immobilize a giant foe before unleashing a powerful area-of-effect spell that summoned flying swords.
Warlock appears to combine traditional third-person action combat with elements drawn from Dungeons & Dragons lore, including familiar monsters and magic. The emphasis on dark magic is intended to differentiate it from other titles in the genre.
