Avatar: Seven Havens premiered last week, exclusively on Paramount+, and shortly thereafter, the streamer announced that seasons three and four have been greenlit. An additional, unspecified Avatar project is also in development.
For those without a Paramount+ subscription, this news presents a dilemma. Given the original series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, is a fan favorite and the follow-up, The Legend of Korra, was also well-received, the desire to watch Seven Havens is strong. However, the prospect of adding yet another monthly streaming bill can be a deterrent.
The positive reviews for the Seven Havens premiere make it difficult to ignore. Combined with the fact that some viewers may not have seen the Avatar Aang movie, it seems likely that many will opt for at least a temporary subscription.
Fortunately, the release schedule for Avatar: Seven Havens is relatively condensed. Season one consists of 13 episodes, which are being released in batches. The final four episodes are slated for release on October 30, allowing subscribers to potentially finish the season within a single month.
Paramount+ previously offered a free trial, but this was discontinued at the start of the year when UFC content was added to the platform. However, a workaround exists through Walmart+. A 30-day subscription to Walmart+ for $1 currently includes access to a basic Paramount+ subscription, providing a trial-like option for the streaming service.
With the recent Paramount Skydance acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, it is probable that Paramount+ will host more popular content in the future. While many viewers maintain existing bundles of services like HBO Max, Hulu, and Disney+, the landscape of streaming availability can shift. For now, the cost of a one-month Paramount+ subscription is $8.99.
