Wo Long 2 Demo Brings Back Infamous Boss Character

Team Ninja has released a demo for its upcoming action game, Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, offering players a glimpse into the expanded sequel ahead of its March 4 launch. The demo, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, has reintroduced a particularly challenging boss from the original Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty: Lu Bu.

Lu Bu, known as "The Mightiest Fell" and "The Beast Among Men," was a formidable opponent in the 2023 title, with players facing him multiple times. His swift movements, immense power, reliance on fire attacks, and aggressive combat style made him a significant hurdle for many.

Despite Lu Bu's defeat in the first game, and his historical death around 199 AD, the demo places players in the Changban battlefield roughly a decade after the original's events. Within the demo's open zone, interacting with mutated clams can trigger encounters with past adversaries. After a battle with Aoye, a bovine demon, a second clam leads to an unexpected confrontation with Lu Bu.

According to reports, the reappearance of Lu Bu in the demo has been met with frustration, as he appears to have retained his challenging moveset, potentially with increased speed and damage. While he no longer utilizes his horse, making him easier to track, his attack range may have been extended. This resurgence, despite his prior demise, has raised concerns about his role and difficulty in the full release of Wo Long 2.

Players who complete the demo will receive the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet as a cosmetic item for the full game. The demo will be available until September 30. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is slated for release on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
