World of Warcraft is set to receive a significant quality-of-life update with its upcoming major patch, "Curse of Ula'tek." In addition to changes to world bosses, Blizzard is implementing several highly requested features and improvements.
The most notable change is the persistence of the auto-loot setting. Previously, players had to re-enable auto-loot for each new character created, a process described as "mildly inconveniencing" and a "genuinely kind of annoying" experience for those who frequently play alternate characters. This setting, which allows players to gather all loot from defeated enemies with a single click, will now remain active across character creations.
Beyond the auto-loot fix, the patch includes performance upgrades to Silvermoon City, faster Prey hunts, and experience point buffs. For the hardcore raiding community, repair costs have also been reduced.
Further enhancements are planned for "Curse of Ula'tek," such as the ability to reset profession knowledge points once per profession and reduced costs for crafted housing decor. The Voidforge will also become accessible from Silvermoon City.
UI improvements are also on the way, including the ability to view map coordinates without requiring an addon. The developers are also addressing recurring bug patterns that could cause players to become stuck in combat for extended periods, aiming to make such situations far less common.
