For 22 years, World of Warcraft players have been faced with a seemingly small but constant annoyance: manually looting every item dropped by defeated enemies. This oversight, requiring players to individually click on each piece of loot, is finally being addressed in the upcoming patch, Curse of Ula'tek. The change will make the autoloot setting account-wide, meaning players will no longer need to re-enable this convenience for every new character they create.

The autoloot feature allows players to gather all items from a defeated enemy's corpse with a single click, a stark contrast to the tedious individual looting of even grey vendor trash. This quality-of-life adjustment has been a staple in many other games, and its persistent absence in World of Warcraft has been a minor, yet perpetual, frustration for its player base.

While the autoloot fix is a notable quality-of-life improvement, the Curse of Ula'tek patch brings more substantial content. The update introduces a new zone, an eight-boss raid, new world bosses, delves, quests, and a new dungeon season. The expansion is themed around the Amani trolls, promising environments with waterlogged ruins and troll architecture, as well as snake-like enemies, continuing the narrative threads established at the beginning of the Midnight expansion. The new area, referred to as "Coiled Isle," is expected to launch in less than a week.
