World of Warcraft: Forever has marked the biggest launch in the MMORPG's history, according to Blizzard, surpassing all previous expansions in terms of peak concurrent players. The new edition, which released on November 4, also saw the highest number of returning players for any WoW launch.

In addition to breaking records for concurrent engagement, World of Warcraft: Forever has attracted the most new players to the game in 15 years. This influx includes individuals experiencing Azeroth for the first time alongside long-time players returning to the game.

World of Warcraft: Forever was officially confirmed at BlizzCon in September following datamining speculation around a "wow 2" tag on Blizzard's website, which fans had theorized referred to a "Classic Plus" version of the game. Blizzard has not yet released specific player count figures.

The game's first major hotfix patch was deployed on Friday, addressing various issues, including a significant bug that impacted PvP battlegrounds like Warsong Gulch.
