World of Warcraft: Forever Character Creation and Name Reservation Now Live

Blizzard Entertainment has opened character creation and name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever, allowing players to get a head start before the game officially launches on November 4. This feature enables players to save time on launch day by preparing their characters in advance.

To access this new functionality, players must have World of Warcraft: Forever preinstalled via Battle.net and have purchased at least the $30 Skyborne Heroic Pack. This pack also grants access to the game's new optional playable race, the Skyborne elves. Once these requirements are met, players can log into the game, select their desired ruleset, and begin creating characters. Up to three characters can be created and named before the official release.

World of Warcraft: Forever introduces a naming convention that requires both a first and a last name for all characters, offering more creative freedom to players. It is important for players to create their characters on the specific server ruleset they intend to play on, as Blizzard has stated that character transfers between different rulesets will not be possible once the game is live. Additionally, on player-versus-player (PvP) rulesets, characters can only belong to a single faction (Alliance or Horde) on that specific ruleset, so choosing wisely is advised.

Recent communications from Blizzard have included updates on racial ability changes, efforts to improve the game's controversial layering system, and the addition of new server options. To further build excitement, Blizzard also released a PvP-focused animated music video featuring vocalists Amy Lee, Poppy, and Courtney LaPlante, set to a nu-metal soundtrack. This upcoming title marks a significant milestone for the franchise, as it will be the first time in World of Warcraft's history that the game is fully playable with a controller, in addition to its PC availability.
