World of Warcraft: Forever has captured a significant audience following its launch, quickly climbing to the top of Twitch's most viewed games. At the time of reporting, the title had garnered approximately 385,000 viewers on the streaming platform, with streamer Ahmpy leading WoW channels with around 18,300 concurrent viewers.
This viewership figure places World of Warcraft: Forever well ahead of other popular categories and games. The 'Just Chatting' category on Twitch, typically a strong performer, sits in second place with 145,000 viewers. Riot Games' League of Legends follows in third with 81,400 viewers, while Aion 2, another recent MMO release, has approximately 75,900 viewers. Even Nintendo's newly released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake attracted 63,100 watchers on its launch day.
The smooth launch of World of Warcraft: Forever, with minimal technical issues, may have contributed to its immediate success. Its preceding beta phase was also exceptionally well-received, with Blizzard developers describing it as one of their most successful betas to date.
While official player count numbers for World of Warcraft: Forever have not yet been released, Blizzard has not disclosed WoW subscriber counts since 2015. However, the game's strong performance on Twitch suggests a potentially significant player base engaging with the title.
