Blizzard revealed "World of Warcraft Forever" during BlizzCon 2026, a new take on WoW Classic designed to offer a continually evolving experience within the game's original world. Unlike previous Classic iterations that progressed through expansions, WoW Forever will remain focused on the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, introducing substantial new content while preserving the core gameplay of the original MMORPG.
This new version will feature up to 1,000 new quests, alongside revamped existing zones and three entirely new areas that were previously inaccessible on the map. Players can also look forward to nine new dungeons, two new raids, and an additional PvP battleground. A new playable race, the Skyborne elves, will be introduced, with one of the new zones serving as their starting area. Class revamps are also planned, including new talents and skills, along with expanded class and race combinations. An option to toggle between HD and old-school graphics will be available.
Blizzard has stated that WoW Forever will continue to receive new content updates, but the level cap will remain at 60. The development philosophy emphasizes the journey and social aspects of the game, with many of the new dungeons and quests designed for characters below the level cap, shifting focus away from a traditional endgame experience.
The normal version of WoW Classic will remain accessible for players who prefer the original experience. A playable beta for WoW Forever is scheduled to launch on September 17, with the full release slated for November 4.
