Publisher 505 Games has announced that a sequel to the Souls-like action game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is in development. The project will be helmed by Indolphinity, a new studio founded by Xia Siyaun, the creative director of the original game. This announcement follows the acquisition of the Wuchang intellectual property by 505's parent company, Digital Bros Group, in April.
Indolphinity's formation and the sequel's development come less than a year after the original development team, Lenzee Games, was reportedly disbanded in April due to a leadership dispute. "Through this partnership, 505 Games and Indolphinity reaffirm their shared belief in the long-term potential of the Wuchang franchise and their joint commitment to preserving the authenticity and cultural identity of the IP," a press release stated. The publisher also indicated that future creative development will remain rooted in China through close collaboration with the original creator to ensure continuity.
Digital Bros Group plans to establish a new subsidiary in Chengdu, China, to work closely with Indolphinity. At present, the sequel has no formal title, release window, or gameplay details.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, which centers on a pirate afflicted with a supernatural disease during China's Ming Dynasty, achieved over 5 million players in the year since its July 2025 launch. Game Informer awarded the original title a 7.75 out of 10, noting its well-executed genre tropes, inventive combat customization, and unique dynamic difficulty scaling, though it did not reach the heights of its contemporaries.
