A sequel to the Chinese soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has been confirmed, with original creative director Xia Siyuan returning to lead development at his newly founded studio, Indolphinity. Publisher 505 Games, a subsidiary of Digital Bros, has fully acquired the Wuchang IP and will fund and distribute the new title.

The original Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, developed by the now-defunct Leenzee, achieved over five million players since its launch last year. Despite a generally positive reception, the game faced internal turmoil with Xia Siyuan's departure from Leenzee.

The sequel is currently in the preparation phase, with development slated to remain in China. Xia Siyuan stated that the team is attentive to player feedback and community sentiment, aiming to deliver a more polished experience that aligns with the game's original creative vision and cultural roots. "We remain firmly devoted to our original creative aspirations and cultural foundations, striving to answer everyone's long‑standing expectations with more polished quality and a more complete experience," he said.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received a three-star review from Eurogamer, which described it as a "competent, cool, and pretty soulslike with a nice twist on death, but few true surprises." On Steam, the game holds a "mostly positive" overall user rating, with recent reviews trending towards "very positive," though initial performance and balance issues were noted. The game was also released on Xbox Series X/S, including a day-one launch on Game Pass, and on PlayStation 5.
