A peculiar crossover event is set to unfold in WWE 2K24 with the announcement of a new DLC pack that merges the worlds of professional wrestling and fighting games. Ahead of the release of the new Street Fighter movie, 2K Games has unveiled the WWE 2K24 X Street Fighter Elite Pack, allowing players to transform select WWE Superstars into figures inspired by the Street Fighter universe. This pack draws inspiration from the Mattel Elite Collection WWE X Street Fighter figures, pushing merchandising strategies to an unusual extreme.

The WWE 2K24 X Street Fighter Elite Pack, available as a standalone purchase starting October 28, will include:

  • The Rock reimagined as M. Bison
  • Rey Mysterio as Ryu
  • Bianca Belair as Cammy
  • Ultimate Warrior as Blanka
  • Dominik Mysterio as Ken

Each of these Superstar skins will also come equipped with signature Street Fighter-inspired moves, such as the Shinku Hadoken, Psycho Crusher, Spiral Arrow, Electric Thunder, and Shoryuken. Notably absent from the lineup is Cody Rhodes, despite his role as Guile in the new movie and past instances of him cosplaying as the character at WWE events.

In addition to the playable character skins, the pack incorporates 15 Create-a-Superstar parts from other Street Fighter characters, including Akuma, Vega, and Chun-Li. While pricing details are still forthcoming, similar character packs in WWE 2K24 typically retail around $15.

This crossover arrives as the new Street Fighter film receives a "mixed or average" critical reception, holding a metascore of 46 on Metacritic based on 19 reviews. Critics have pointed to a disjointed narrative in the film, with stylish fight sequences serving as the primary cohesive element across its two-hour duration. Box office projections for the movie's opening weekend also suggest it may struggle to make a significant impact.
