As anticipation builds for Avengers: Doomsday, set to release on December 18th, speculation is rife regarding which characters might not survive the conflict with Doctor Doom. The recent emergence of Robert Downey Jr. in the role has only fueled discussions about power scaling and potential outcomes.
Amidst this fan speculation, actors Liev Schreiber, who portrayed Sabertooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Zazie Beetz, who played Domino in Deadpool 2, shared their perspectives on their characters' potential to overcome Doctor Doom. When asked by Polygon, Beetz expressed confidence in Domino’s abilities.
“Domino? I think she can do anything,” Beetz stated. “The luck power that I have sort of expands everything, you know? It's a little bit more flexible, so I think things fall on my side generally.” Beetz acknowledged that Domino's luck-based powers, while advantageous, also have a drawback where misfortune befalls others. Her chances against Doctor Doom could be unpredictable, depending on the whims of luck.
Schreiber, meanwhile, emphasized Sabertooth's resilience. “The thing about Creed is he doesn't back down from a fight,” he explained. “I think that tenacity will get him through. Maybe I'm wrong, but, you know, the healing powers, and now he's probably got adamantium by this point. I think we [Schreiber and Beetz] have a shot.”
While neither actor has confirmed their involvement in Avengers: Doomsday, their hypothetical matchups highlight the diverse array of powers and abilities within the broader superhero landscape. The prospect of a collaboration between Domino and Sabertooth could present a formidable challenge to Doctor Doom, potentially altering the anticipated narrative of the film.
