Microsoft has announced the next wave of titles joining Xbox and PC Game Pass in the latter half of August. The lineup features the day-one addition of "A Plague Tale: Resonance," a prequel to Asobo's popular series.
"A Plague Tale: Resonance" shifts the focus from stealth to combat, offering what has been described as an appealing adventure akin to "Tomb Raider" and "Uncharted," with impressive set-pieces and puzzles set within ancient ruins. The game is set to be a dual-timeline narrative experience on the island of Crete.
Another day-one Game Pass release is "Blood Dungeon," the latest from "Nidhogg" creator Messhof. This title is presented as a Metroidvania-style game. The service will also see "Egging On" become available on cloud, Xbox Series X/S, handheld, and PC starting August 18. "Vapor World: Over the Mind (Game Preview)" and "BlazBlue Entropy Effect X" will arrive on August 19 for cloud, console, and PC, and cloud, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, respectively. "Relooted" and "Starsand Island" are also slated for August 19 and August 20, respectively, for cloud, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Further additions include "Aerial_Knight's DropShot" on August 25, and "Young Suns" on August 31, both for cloud, Xbox Series X/S, handheld, and PC platforms. "Shelldiver" is set to join Game Pass on September 1.
Meanwhile, several titles are scheduled to leave Game Pass on August 31. These include "Another Crab's Treasure," "I Am Your Beast," "Neon Abyss," and "One Lonely Outpost." The remastered edition of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will depart Game Pass on September 6. "NBA 2K26" will also be leaving the service.
Games designated with a "handheld" option are optimized for play on handheld devices.
