Xbox has announced an expansion of its partnership with Ubisoft, allowing players who own specific Ubisoft games on Xbox consoles to claim free PC versions of those titles. This new offer, available now, provides access to 13 games through the Ubisoft Connect application on PC after linking an Xbox account. The selection includes prominent titles from major Ubisoft franchises, such as Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenyx Rising. Players will also find Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs Legion. This initiative allows players who may not have played these games on PC to acquire them at no additional cost. Beyond free PC copies, the partnership also grants Xbox players access to premium editions of Ubisoft games through the Xbox PC app. This includes recent releases like Assassin's Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws, as well as other entries in the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, The Crew, and Watch Dogs series. These moves suggest a growing focus by Xbox on the PC gaming landscape, coinciding with rumors of Microsoft's next-generation console adopting a more PC-like architecture. This follows recent announcements, including the introduction of original Xbox console games to PC with enhancements like improved resolution and customizable graphics, indicating a broader strategy for backward compatibility and PC integration.
