Xbox has officially unveiled its latest controller, the Xbox Nano Controller, designed for players who want to game anywhere. Announced on Wednesday, this new model boasts a significantly smaller and lighter form factor compared to standard Xbox controllers, making it an ideal choice for portability.
The Nano Controller measures 5 inches wide and weighs just 3.5 ounces, a stark contrast to the Xbox Wireless and Elite controllers which both measure 6 inches wide and weigh between 10 and 12 ounces respectively. This compact size allows it to easily fit into a pocket. Its design is also noted as being suitable for gamers with smaller hands or younger players who may find traditional controllers difficult to manage.
Functionally, the Xbox Nano Controller features a rechargeable battery that can be powered up via USB-C. It supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling it to pair with compatible PCs, mobile phones, and smart TVs. The controller is priced at $49.99, making it $15 cheaper than a standard Xbox controller. Pre-orders are currently open, with a release date set for November 4. To help mitigate scalping, each account is limited to purchasing a maximum of five controllers per order.
In the United States, a holiday promotion will offer a special Nano Controller bundled with two months of Game Pass Ultimate, available with select Samsung TVs.
