Microsoft has confirmed a significant outage impacting Xbox services, with users across PC and consoles experiencing difficulties with sign-ins and account access. The company described the situation as a "major outage" on its support page, detailing that affected users may be unable to sign into their Xbox profiles, could be disconnected while logged in, or encounter other related problems.

Features requiring a sign-in, such as most games, applications, and social activities, are unavailable to those affected. The widespread issues span across Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox on Windows, and cloud and web services, including mobile platforms like Android and iPhone. Microsoft first acknowledged the problem around 5:09 AM ET, and as of several hours later, was still actively working to resolve the issues without providing a specific cause for the disruption. An update from Xbox Support on X (formerly Twitter) stated, "We are aware that some users are encountering errors when attempting to sign in or create an account. Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue. We'll update as soon as we have more — keep an eye on https://t.co/MGxnmqdcis."
