Xbox has unveiled its lineup of games arriving on Game Pass for the first few weeks of August, featuring notable additions such as Game Freak's new action RPG, Beast of Reincarnation, and the unique dating simulator, Date Everything!.
The Game Pass Ultimate tier will gain access to Beast of Reincarnation on August 4th. This title from Pokémon studio Game Freak was recently reviewed, and its inclusion marks a significant new release for the service. Additionally, the open beta for Gears of War: E-Day, showcasing its evolved Horde mode, will commence tomorrow for Ultimate subscribers.
Date Everything!, developed by Sassy Chap, a studio founded by Critical Role alumnus Robbie Daymond, is also set to launch on Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass on August 11th. The game presents a bizarre premise where players date items of furniture that transform into people after a spell is cast. Described as "thirsty," funny, and "uplifting," it is highlighted as a worthwhile experience.
Several other titles are joining Game Pass Premium, with many already available on Ultimate and PC Game Pass. These include Grounded 2, anticipating a major expansion, and the "incredibly compelling" Ball x Pit. PowerWash Simulator 2 requires little introduction for its niche appeal, while the Metroidvania Mio: Memories of Orbit has reportedly been well-received.
Games scheduled to depart Game Pass on August 15th include Aliens: Fireteam Elite, notable due to an upcoming sequel, and the acclaimed indie title Firewatch.
The early August Game Pass additions are rolling out against a backdrop of significant restructuring within the Xbox division, which has led to substantial job losses and is attributed to factors such as declining console sales and subscriber numbers. New Xbox head Asha Sharma has recently implemented price cuts for Game Pass in an effort to boost subscriber engagement.
