Microsoft has partnered with T-Mobile to offer Xbox Game Pass as part of select U.S. phone plans. This marks the first time the gaming subscription service has been available through a wireless plan in the United States.
The new offering, called "T-Mix," allows T-Mobile customers to customize their mobile plans by choosing from a selection of services. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Premium can be selected as one of the included options. T-Mix plans start at $55 per month for a single line and include one chosen service. Higher tiers, such as T-Mix More at $75 per month and T-Mix Loaded at $95 per month, offer two and three service picks, respectively. Subscribers have the flexibility to change their selections every three months.
Other services available for inclusion in T-Mix plans include Apple TV+, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube Premium, Google Gemini, and ESPN Unlimited. This move by Microsoft and T-Mobile aims to integrate gaming subscriptions more seamlessly into everyday consumer packages.
This partnership comes amid reports of a potential "major overhaul" of the Xbox Game Pass service itself. Recent discussions and reports suggest Microsoft is exploring an à la carte model, allowing players to select specific features or tiers. This follows statements from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma indicating that the current Game Pass model had not fully met expectations. Changes already implemented include the exclusion of new Call of Duty titles from the program and adjustments to cloud gaming time access, which some observers believe could lead to a more expensive and less comprehensive service for users.
