Xbox may be on the verge of introducing a system akin to PlayStation's Platinum trophies, according to Xbox CEO Asha Sharma. In response to a user inquiring about an "equivalent" to Platinum trophies for Xbox achievements, Sharma stated on social media that "Team is working on something for later this year!" Platinum trophies are awarded to players who unlock all other trophies within a PlayStation game, serving as a marker of dedication for some players. Currently, Xbox does not have a comparable achievement for unlocking every single achievement in a game.

This potential new feature comes as the Xbox achievement system receives its latest update, which is now rolling out. This update introduces enhanced sorting options for games, allowing users to organize them by name, completion percentage, Gamerscore earned, and the total number of achievements unlocked. The update is initially available to Xbox Insiders, with a wider public release planned for a later date.

Sharma, who assumed the role of Xbox CEO earlier this year, has been implementing significant changes aimed at revitalizing the Xbox business for profitability and growth. These strategic shifts have included organizational restructuring, workforce reductions, and the cancellation or divestiture of certain game projects and studios.
