Microsoft has announced a pair of highly-detailed Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox controllers. These controllers feature distinct designs inspired by the upcoming title.
The primary offering is the Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition controller, characterized by its 3D-sculpted grips in a charred black finish with blood-red accents. Alongside this, a Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition option is available through Xbox Design Lab, featuring a silver skull motif and two crossed Chainsaw Lancers, with further customization options.
The standard Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition controller is priced at $89.99 / £84.99 / €89.99, matching the cost of the previous limited edition Forza Horizon 6 controller. Pre-orders are now open, with the official launch set for September 30. The Design Lab version will also be available on September 30.
These controllers function with Xbox Series X/S, Windows 10/11 PCs, mobile devices, and Xbox One consoles. Additionally, a Gears of War: E-Day 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox controllers will be released. This dock is compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S controllers and includes magnetic alignment, drop-and-charge functionality, and built-in overcharge and overheating protection.
Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled for release on October 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, and is confirmed as a console exclusive. An open beta is currently accessible, offering players a preview of the gameplay. Early impressions suggest the core Gears gameplay remains intact, with mechanics like Gnasher and Longshot combat, and the satisfaction of clearing waves of enemies proving consistent with player expectations.
