Xbox online services have been fully restored after an outage that began on the evening of July 26 and lasted for several hours. The disruption impacted a range of features across multiple Xbox platforms, including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and backward-compatible titles.
According to the Xbox Status page, the issues first began around 11:10 p.m. ET on July 26. As of an update on July 27 at 7:24 p.m. ET, services have been brought back online.
During the outage, users reported problems with several key features. The "Account & Profile" service indicated that players might be unable to sign in, could be disconnected while logged in, or experience other related sign-in difficulties, which consequently affected features requiring authentication such as most games, apps, and social activities. The "Store & Subscriptions" service reportedly prevented users from seeing games they were searching for in the Xbox Store, while the "Games & Gaming" service caused problems for those attempting to play digital titles. Additionally, the "Apps & Mobile" service led to difficulties in launching applications.
The outage occurred just days after a similar service disruption affected PlayStation users. While the problems were widespread, reports suggest that the impact varied among users and games. Some players, including the author of the initial report, were able to log in and play owned or Game Pass titles without issue during the outage, indicating the problems were not universally experienced.
