Pricing and launch details for a new translucent green Xbox Wireless Controller, inspired by the original Xbox console, have reportedly leaked. According to Dealabs contributor billbil-kun, the Xbox Wireless Controller Special Edition X25 is slated for an October 20, 2026 release with a price point of $79.99 USD, £74.99 GBP, or €79.99 EUR.
Microsoft is expected to officially announce these details next week during Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Preorders for the controller are anticipated to begin on August 26.
This special edition controller is part of Xbox's 25th-anniversary celebration, which was announced in June and includes a limited-edition Xbox Series X console variant. Both the console and controller feature a translucent green shell, allowing internal components to be visible. The console itself is expected to launch in November and will reportedly include a matching controller.
While Xbox is not hosting a dedicated press conference at Gamescom this year, the company plans to stream two days of programming showcasing upcoming titles. These streams, scheduled for August 26 and 27, are expected to feature updates on games such as Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, Fable, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Potential new announcements might also emerge during the event's Opening Night Live showcase.
