Nintendo has officially unveiled Xenoblade Genesis, a new installment in the acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles JRPG series. The game was revealed during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation and is slated for an exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Nintendo is marketing Genesis as a "new beginning" for the franchise.
The narrative of Xenoblade Genesis centers on Anima, a power drawn from the world's elements that shapes reality. Battles are determined by Anima and the Vesselai, individuals capable of wielding this power. The trailer also introduced the Anima Crystone, an artifact that not only enhances the Vesselai's abilities but also serves as a repository for their life experiences. These Crystones are integrated into weaponry, such as swords, and are evidently a significant part of life in the world of Leukos, suggesting the presence of an academic system.
Xenoblade Genesis is scheduled to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. In the interim, players can explore previous entries in the series, with Xenoblade Chronicles 1, 2, and 3 also planned for release on the Nintendo Switch 2.
