Nintendo's Zelda Notes app is set to receive a significant expansion for the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The companion app, previously supporting The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on Switch, will introduce a suite of new features tailored specifically for the classic title.

Among the new additions is a playable ocarina function, allowing players to perform melodies directly from their mobile devices. This feature will also enable users to compose their own musical scores and share them with others via QR codes. Complementing this is a stat tracker designed to provide daily insights into players' recent gameplay sessions, detailing metrics such as enemies defeated. A Zelda quiz, boasting over 2,000 questions, is also being incorporated into the app.

Perhaps one of the most substantial new features is an in-game hint system that utilizes images on the mobile device to guide players in locating hidden quests. While all these additions are optional, Nintendo states they are intended to enrich the experience for those who engage with them.

These app enhancements were revealed alongside other details for the Ocarina of Time remake during a recent Zelda-focused Nintendo Direct presentation. The event also confirmed a release window for the remake, placing it in proximity to Grand Theft Auto VI's launch, though Nintendo appears unconcerned by the potential overlap in audiences. The presentation also announced a pair of new amiibo figures for the remake, depicting young Link and young Zelda, which will unlock unique in-game items.
