Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma Feels Nervous Ahead of Ocarina of Time Remake Launch

Eiji Aonuma, the veteran producer of The Legend of Zelda series, admits to feeling nervous about the impending release of the remake of Ocarina of Time. Despite decades of experience with the franchise, Aonuma expressed his unease in a recent press event in Paris.

"I'm all nervous about releasing the remake of 'Ocarina' because I don't know how it's going to turn out, I can't stop thinking about it," Aonuma told AFP. He highlighted that this project carries different stakes, as his team is tasked with remaking a game widely considered one of the greatest of all time, a departure from creating original titles.

Ocarina of Time was Aonuma's first project working alongside legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He noted that some younger members of his development team had never played the original game, a situation he views positively as it potentially brings a fresh perspective to the remake.

Initial reception to previews suggests Aonuma has little reason for concern. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has performed exceptionally well in IGN's preview metrics, ranking as the second-highest performing preview of the year. On YouTube, related video content has garnered over 1.8 million views, making it the top-performing content by a significant margin.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is scheduled for release on November 5. IGN will provide comprehensive review coverage upon launch. A game help guide is also available for those looking to refresh their memory or for new players.
