The Skeleton Crew appearance, a fan-favorite cosmetic that transforms your pirate comrades into undead denizens, has returned in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. Unlike its original implementation, where this look was a reward for completing in-game challenges, the Skeleton Crew is now available for purchase, albeit not with traditional currency.
Obtaining the Skeleton Crew
To acquire the Deceased Crew Attire, players must travel to an unmarked island situated south of Andreas Island. The approximate coordinates for this location are 550,638. On this island, a hidden store sells rare goods, including the Deceased Crew Attire. This item is priced at 206 Animal Bones, and cannot be purchased with Reales.
Once the attire is obtained, players can change their crew's appearance to the undead look by visiting any Harbormaster and selecting the "Deceased Undead Crew" option.
Farming Animal Bones
Animal Bones, the currency for the Skeleton Crew appearance, can be acquired through two primary methods: as random drops from skinned land animals or by purchasing them from the Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua.
When hunting animals for bones, prioritize the following creatures: Black Jaguar, Capuchin Monkey, Crocodile, Deer, Hutia, Iguana, Jaguar, Ocelot, Rabbit, Red Howler Monkey, White Jaguar, and Wild Pig. While these animals yield bones upon skinning, the drop rate is not always consistent. Additionally, animals in Black Flag Resynced do not respawn immediately after leaving and re-entering an area, necessitating patience or strategic movement between farming locations.
Early in the game, players can effectively farm bones near Nassau, where Crocodiles and Wild Pigs are common. Transitioning to western Dry Tortuga offers more opportunities to hunt Wild Pigs and Jaguars. The area surrounding Kingston also serves as a productive hunting ground later in the campaign.
Alternatively, players can unlock the Treasure Dealer in their Hideout by progressing through the Former Glories side quest in Great Inagua. This involves restoring the General Store and Tavern. Once unlocked, the Treasure Dealer offers Animal Bones for sale at a price of 1,000 Reales per bone.
