The Blackbeard's Treasure quest in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced presents a unique challenge, as it omits explicit coordinates, requiring players to rely on their knowledge of the Caribbean. This new quest becomes available only after the completion of the 'Do Not Go Gently' main mission. The hunt begins when Edward Kenway discovers Blackbeard's treasure map within the pirate's hat.
Locating Anotto Bay
The treasure map leads to Anotto Bay, situated at coordinates 590, 245. This location is north of Kingston, along the northern coast of the island in the Charlotte region. Upon arriving at Anotto Bay, players will encounter several pirate ships that must be sunk before docking the Jackdaw.
Navigating the Treasure Caves
Once ashore, proceed by hopping across the adjacent boats to the left and diving into the water. Search for a sunken mineshaft. Players must navigate through these underwater tunnels, avoiding hazards such as sharks and sea anemones, until reaching an area characterized by wooden platforms, gunpowder barrels, and numerous enemies.
To progress, acquire a gunpowder barrel and carry it to the far side of the room where rubble obstructs the path. This rubble will glow green when the player utilizes the 'LT' controller function. Place the barrel near the rubble and detonate it to clear the obstruction.
Continue onward until reaching a cave containing Blackbeard's former sailing master. After confronting this adversary, find another gunpowder barrel. Carry this barrel up the path to the right of a waterfall, where a second pile of rubble awaits destruction.
Completing the Quest
Inside the newly accessible area, the treasure can be found. To officially complete the quest, players must then return to Great Inagua. The reward for this endeavor is Blackbeard's portrait, which can be displayed in the loot cave area of the player's manor.
