Unlocking the path to the best ending in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse requires collecting all four Virtues, with the Sage Arcana being the most elusive. To obtain it, players must free Eleanor of Aquitaine from her mirror prison, a task that involves locating and breaking four specific sigils on save point mirrors. These mirrors function as pocket dimensions, accessible by holding down the directional button while standing on a save point.
The entrance to the Hall of Mirrors is situated in the Main Hall area, specifically toward the southeastern section. Following Alucard's paintings will lead players to a mirror containing Eleanor. Interacting with this mirror and kneeling prompts entry into the Hall of Mirrors, which connects to various save rooms throughout the castle.
Before Eleanor can be freed, all four sigils sealing her must be destroyed. A clue found in the Clock Tower, a sketch by Talos, indicates the four necessary locations. Upon finding a sigil-marked save point mirror, players must hold down to warp into the pocket dimension, then attack the lock mechanism above the mirror. While enemies will appear to defend it, they must be quickly defeated to break the sigil.
The four Sage Sigil locations are as follows:
- Paris Streets - Prison Tower: This sigil is located near the Joan of Arc boss fight and does not require any special abilities to reach.
- Main Hall - Archives: Situated on the opposite side of the Main Hall from the starting point and near Alucard's Tower. A lever puzzle to the left of the save point must be solved to clear the path.
- Clock Tower - Mechanic's Ascent: Found near the shortcuts leading to the top of the Clock Tower on the left side. Following directions for the Clock Tower should lead players to this sigil.
- Notre Dame - East Gallery: This area is accessible after obtaining the smash attack, double jump, and dash abilities. Players must traverse eastward from the Giant Organ area, cross a breakable floor, and navigate spike traps and Chaos Shards. The path involves using abilities to cross gaps and eventually leads to the save point.
Once the four sigils are broken, the path to Eleanor is clear, but the Hall of Mirrors presents further challenges. A separate entity traps Eleanor, forcing players into a disorienting mirror dimension to confront the Temptress Arcana boss. Navigating this area is notoriously difficult.
To aid in navigation within the Hall of Mirrors, players can kneel before mirrors displaying their true reflection to warp to specific map points, often near save points. Red reflections trigger attacks, while blue reflections offer directional clues. Hints of Sypha's presence indicate proximity to the Temptress's lair. A second conversation with Sypha, where Rose questions her mother's identity, signals the correct path: head left, then down past the Peeping Eye, through a door to the right, and smash a breakable floor. Continue left, then go down and right through a door to warp back to a lower section on the left side. Repeating this warping process leads to The Descent into Memory, where the save point and the Temptress's lair are located.
The Vampire Killer weapon, with its fire effect, is recommended for the Temptress boss fight, helping to distinguish the real boss from illusions. Defeating the Temptress reveals the map of the Hall of Mirrors, greatly improving navigation. Finally, returning to the Holy Innocents' Cemetery and reaching the Tomb of the Noble Queen will reward players with the Sage Arcana.
