Navigating the world of Control Resonant will lead players to encounter a mysterious dog marked by a paw print icon on the map. This spectral companion is on a quest to retrieve its lost toys, and finding all seven scattered across the game's environments yields a significant reward.
Finding the Mysterious Dog's Toys
Each of the seven toy locations requires a specific approach, often involving platforming, gravity manipulation, or careful observation. After retrieving a toy, players must return to the Mysterious Dog and place the item in its designated bed. It's crucial to interact with the dog after each successful retrieval to ensure the quest progresses correctly.
Central Location
The first toy can be found in the Central area. After locating the dog on a rooftop, turn around to face an alleyway below. Navigate through the lasers and find the dragon toy near a 'Chowrap' sign in the back left corner. Return to the dog using rooftops and fire escapes, as the toy prevents the use of Reach.
Downtown Location
In the southern part of Downtown, the Mysterious Dog awaits on another rooftop. Facing the dog, turn left to spot a Chowrap billboard. The toy is located on the adjacent rooftop, next to the billboard. Players can hover over to retrieve it and then use their movement abilities to return to the dog.
Evacuation Zone Location
North of the sinkhole in the Evacuation Zone, the paw print will lead you to the dog. The toy is situated on the opposite side of the dog, directly above or below depending on the current gravity. Interact with the nearest Chowrap billboards for reference. Players will need to use a Gravity Anomaly to switch gravity, retrieve the toy, and then switch it back to return it.
West Incursion Zone Location
In the West Incursion Zone, after unlocking the MAP Kit, find the next paw print. A Chowrap poster marks the area near the dog. Utilizing a Gravity Anomaly, ascend the wall beside the poster to find the toy at the top. Use gravity again to return to the dog's platform and place the toy in its bed.
The Park Location
Within The Park, the dog is found on a rooftop. Look for a large Chowrap sign to the dog's right and upward. Players can attempt to reach the toy by double jumping and hovering from a nearby ramp-shaped rooftop. Alternatively, power can be channeled from a nearby Power Core Station to a broken-down lift unit. If the Ground Slam ability is unlocked, players can use it to reveal a hidden area containing power units needed to activate the lift.
Underpass Location
The Underpass presents another toy retrieval challenge. The dog is located in a relatively open area. The toy is found on the reverse side of the dog's platform. After retrieving the toy using gravity, players must carefully drop off the edge and line up a jump or drop to return to the dog's platform, as Reach cannot be used while carrying the toy.
Unknown Location
In the northwestern part of the Unknown zone, the final Mysterious Dog encounter takes place. From the dog's position, look left towards a large billboard and lights. A 'Bar' sign with an arrow points down towards the toy's location at its base. This area may require gravity manipulation to access and could involve combat with a Hedron.
The Trusted Spanner Reward
Once all seven toys have been returned, the Mysterious Dog relocates to the Gap. Interacting with the dog here will unlock the 'Trusted Spanner' artifact. This artifact provides a significant 15% increase to Dylan's raw damage output and costs 4 Undefined Reading, 400 Source, and 3 Violent Echo to equip.
