Control Resonant: "The Complete Set" Quest Walkthrough

The "The Complete Set" quest in Control Resonant requires players to find and position several altered speakers and a subwoofer throughout Manhattan. These objects emit explosive sound waves, posing a challenge to collection. This walkthrough details the steps needed to complete the quest and offers guidance on the final decision.

Starting "The Complete Set" Quest

The quest can be initiated by visiting the Collector's Apartment in the southwestern part of Central. Look for a black FBC van parked outside. Inside, on the second floor, players will find an open apartment containing an "Interested in Collectibles" paper and a "Peter, Nina and Lester" tape recording. Picking these up will start the quest.

The quest objectives are as follows:

  • Search nearby for the speaker.
  • Investigate the Museum of Curiosities.
  • Investigate the Auction House.
  • Investigate the Auction Buyer's Apartment.
  • Find the confiscated subwoofer.
  • Solve the speaker set puzzle in the Auction House.

Locating the Speakers and Subwoofer

The first speaker is located in the alleyway directly in front of the Collector's Apartment building. After picking it up, players must proceed to the Museum of Curiosities.

To reach the Museum of Curiosities, players will need the Shift ability, unlocked by completing the Incursion Fault in the Parking Garage. Navigate the vertical roads south of the House of Mirrors to find the museum. The entrance is initially blocked by a Hiss barrier. To remove it, follow the red trails emanating from the barrier to destroy three Hiss nodes. One is on a vertical road south of the museum, another on a vertical road west of it, and the third in an alleyway with lasers northeast of the museum. Once inside, collect the "Museum Workers' Notes" and then locate and contain the speaker, which moves erratically.

Next, head to the Auction House in Downtown. Use Shift to access the vertical roads northwest of the Oldest House, leading to the southeast building in the Dense Patterning area. Defeat the enemies on the roof to clear the Hiss barrier. Inside, find the "The SINKKI D50 Speaker Set" collectible on a desk north of a woman standing by a table. Also, pick up the "There's People In There" tape recording. The speaker in the room will then begin its movement; observe its path, wait for it to stop, and contain it. This interaction will also reveal the next objective: to speak with Langston about the confiscated subwoofer.

To find the Auction Buyer's Apartment, go to the eastern portion of Central. On the top floor of the building in the southeastern corner, find the "Exchange Location Note" collectible near the apartment entrance. This note directs players to a coffee shop southwest of the current location. Inside the café, another speaker can be found and contained after observing its movement pattern.

To locate the confiscated subwoofer, return to Langston, who is west of the Field Office in Central. He will provide a keycard to access the storage room in the Oldest House. The storage room is on the way to Executive Research; after exiting the second elevator, turn left. Enemies will appear when the subwoofer is approached. It is recommended to deal with the enemies first before containing the subwoofer.

Solving the Speaker Set Puzzle

With all speakers and the subwoofer collected, return to the Auction House. Place the speaker set on the brown couch. The "SINKKI D50 Speaker Set" collectible provides the placement instructions:

  • One speaker on a glass surface.
  • One speaker on a rocky surface.
  • One speaker on raw wood.
  • One speaker on the color blue.
  • The subwoofer must be in direct contact with water.

From the couch, the locations are visible: a glass table on the first floor, a pallet of black rock on the stage, a bench on the second floor, a blue tarp on the second floor, and a puddle of water in front of the couch on the second floor. After placing all components, turn off all speakers except the subwoofer.

Subwoofer Decision: Volume Up or Off?

Players face a choice: turn the subwoofer volume up or turn it off. Regardless of the choice, the reward is the same: the untapped bout guard artifact. Turning the volume up opens the gate, allowing a mysterious entity to possess the civilian's body. Turning the volume off results in the civilian's death, but potentially saves lives by closing the gate. The game does not reveal the full nature of the entity or the ultimate consequences of either choice.
