Control Resonant's "The Complete Set" side mission tasks players with locating a mysterious speaker set and subwoofer. This quest offers insight into the activities of the Blessed Organization and is particularly relevant for those involved in the Chess Trebles ARG.
Starting "The Complete Set"
The mission can be initiated in several locations: the Auction House in Downtown, the Collector's Apartment in Central, or the Museum of Curiosities in the West Incursion Zone. It's also possible to begin the quest in a coffee shop during a specific point in the game. Regardless of where you start, you will need to visit all these areas to complete the mission.
Museum of Curiosities
The Museum of Curiosities is situated south of the House of Mirrors in the West Incursion Zone. Access requires the Shift ability, meaning "The Incursion Fault" mission must be completed beforehand. Upon arrival, three Hiss Nodes must be destroyed to gain entry.
- The first Hiss Node is located by Shifting up the wall to the left of the museum entrance.
- The second node can be reached by going north from the museum entrance, Shifting up the road, and then Shifting again.
- The third node is found in an alleyway next to a smaller building adjacent to the museum.
Inside the museum, pick up the "Museum Workers' Notes" and "Warning Note" collectibles from the main desk. The speaker can then be found on a plinth at the back of the room. Interact with it, and then follow and contain the violently bouncing speaker.
Auction House Investigation
The Auction House is located in Downtown, northeast of the Oldest House, in an area marked "Dense Patterning (unscouted)". A swift approach involves fast traveling to "Outside the Oldest House", heading northwest to a Shifta-able road, proceeding north, and jumping over a gap to reach a respawn point. From there, take the left road and descend to find the Auction House on the left.
It is advisable to land on the roof to clear out the Hiss guarding the entrance. Once inside, interact with the woman at the console. Collect the "There's People In There" recording and "The SINKKI D50 Speaker Set" from near her.
Subduing the Auction House Speaker
After the initial interactions, the speaker will begin to move. Chase and contain it within the Auction House. Before departing, collect any additional lore items and consider unlocking the lower door by destroying the electrical box.
Auction Buyer's Apartment
This apartment is in the eastern part of Central, between Perimeter Station and East Park Station. Starting from the Field Office, take the road south of the panopticon, proceeding east through blue doors. Continue until a construction site appears on the left; the apartment is in the building with scaffolding directly opposite, with ground-level access.
Inside, retrieve the "Exchange Location Note" from a stand near the door, next to a pizza box. Another collectible is located further within.
Coffee Shop Clues
Across the road from the apartment is a coffee shop. Head towards the Field Office, but watch for a small park area on the left. Enter the park, defeat the Hiss, and enter the coffee shop. The speaker is on a table at the back, alongside the "Action Purchase Receipt" collectible on the floor.
Containing the Coffee Shop Speaker
Follow and contain the speaker within the coffee shop.
Collector's Apartment
The Collector's Apartment is located in Central, southwest of the Field Office. From the Field Office, proceed through the blue doors towards the West Incursion Zone, then take the left road past the signs. Continue over an abandoned truck and past a parking garage. Turn right, go through double doors with spotlights, and ascend the stairs to the open apartment door.
Inside, collect the "Interested in Collectibles?" letter by the door and the "Pete, Nina and Lester" collectible from the phone, which is crucial for continuing the side story. The "One man band" secret can also be completed here.
Subduing the Construction Site Speaker
The speaker is in a dumpster opposite the apartment entrance, specifically the one closest to the construction site on the right side of the road. Chase and contain the speaker, which may involve navigating different levels of the construction site.
Subwoofer Recovery
Speak with Langston at the Field Office. He will reveal that the subwoofer is likely in a room near Executive Research within the Oldest House and will provide a keycard for access. Fast travel to "Oldest House: Central Executive", take the lower elevator to Executive Research, and proceed past the panic room to locate the storage room.
Use the keycard to enter. Interact with the subwoofer on the far left. After defeating the Hiss that appear, chase and contain the subwoofer.
Returning to the Auction House
With the subwoofer acquired, return to the Auction House in Downtown. Interact with the sofa near the woman to proceed.
Completing the Ritual
Follow the placement instructions from "The SINKKI D50 Speaker Set" collectible. While the order is suggested, placing all speakers and the subwoofer is sufficient to complete the mission. The required locations are:
- A section of glass atop two boxes at the bottom of the stairs leading to the woman.
- A slab of rock on the auction stage on the bottom floor.
- A bench on the upper level opposite the woman's position.
- A blue covering hanging off the edge of the balcony on the opposite side of the room from the woman.
- The subwoofer placed in the puddle of water near the Auction House respawn point.
Final Choice and Reward
After placing the subwoofer, speak to the woman. You will be presented with a choice: turn the subwoofer off or turn its volume up. This decision does not affect the reward but does alter the ending. Turning the subwoofer off results in the woman's death. Turning the volume up results in the woman's survival, but she appears to become a vessel for a collective consciousness. Regardless of the choice, you will receive the Untapped Bound Guard artifact and 250 Downtown XP.
