The 'Across the Threshold' quest in Diablo 4's Season 14 requires players to defeat a formidable creature known as a Realmwalker. While these powerful beings can sometimes appear in Sanctuary after a Surging Rupture event concludes, a more reliable method exists to ensure their spawn and the completion of the quest.
Locating the Realmwalker
There are two primary ways to encounter a Realmwalker. Completing a Surging Rupture event with Mastery offers a chance for one to appear, but it is not guaranteed. A more dependable approach involves participating in the dedicated 'Realmwalker' world event. This event takes place southeast of Zarbinzet and is marked on the map with a Whisper icon when active. Players should regularly check their world map for its appearance.
Once the 'Realmwalker' world event commences, the primary objective is to maintain the stability of three Ruptures for a set duration. A check mark will appear on the minimap to signify the successful completion of each Rupture. While it is possible to manage all three Ruptures solo, coordinating with other players can expedite this phase and ensure the Realmwalker is summoned more efficiently.
Defeating the Realmwalker
Upon successful completion of the Rupture objective, the Realmwalker boss will emerge in the center of the arena. To increase the chances of victory, it is advisable to engage this boss on a lower difficulty setting, such as Normal mode. During the fight, players must focus on destroying three specific pillars that will appear. If these pillars are left intact, they will transform into Realmbreakers, significantly increasing the difficulty of the encounter.
Concluding the Quest
After defeating the Realmwalker, a portal to the Deathtoll Chamber will open, initiating the final stage of the quest. Entering this portal leads to an arena that resembles a standard Rupture encounter. Here, the objective shifts to defeating enemies to expand a ritual circle. Once this task is completed, players must then speak with Dannica to finalize the 'Across the Threshold' quest and claim their rewards.
