The Marrow in Hollow Knight: Silksong is home to the elusive Flintbeetles, creatures that must be tracked down to complete one of the game's earliest Wishes. These hardy insects are integral to the Volatile Flintbeetles Wish originating from Bone Bottom. While the Flintbeetles themselves are durable, knowing their locations makes the hunt straightforward.
Players can track the Flintbeetles by following a trail of their distinctive burning dung. These markers remain even if the player dies during the pursuit or combat, offering a generous window for completion. Once defeated, the Flintbeetles vanish, their existence tied to the completion of the Wish.
First Flintbeetle Location
The first Flintbeetle resides near the bone door that previously obstructed passage for the player and Sherma. Proceed past this former obstacle and ascend the first available path. Move left, and at the junction leading towards Mosshome, jump to the ledge on the right. The Flintbeetle is found clinging to the rocky ceiling, and attacking it will cause it to descend for combat. Like the others, it will yield a Flintgem upon defeat.
Second Flintbeetle Location
This Flintbeetle is situated in the easternmost section of The Marrow, within a large cavern that eventually connects to Bellhart's lower areas and the Hunter's March. Navigate eastward along the base of The Marrow, stopping before reaching the Deep Docks. In the final chamber before this point, ascend towards the passage leading to lower Bellhart and utilize the nearby bench. Continue upward, taking the first left path encountered. The beetle is located in a room characterized by pogo-able plants, a common sight leading into the Hunter's March.
Third Flintbeetle Location
To find the final Flintbeetle, travel west from the second beetle's location, moving away from the Hunter's March entrance. You will reach a large chamber containing a lever that opens a shortcut to the south. Ascend the platforms in this chamber towards its higher elevations. The last Flintbeetle is a short jump away. A precise jump around a ledge is required to reach the area above the larger chamber, followed by a brief platforming challenge across collapsing floors to reach the highest point. The presence of charging flying enemies indicates you are on the correct path. The Flintbeetle itself is positioned on a long platform near the ceiling at the end of this platforming sequence.
After defeating all three Flintbeetles and collecting their Flintgems, players must return to Bone Bottom to turn in the Wish and receive their reward.
