The 'Frozen Trail' update for Arc Raiders introduces the outpost, a new player hub that serves as a home base and crafting station. Players must complete a series of tasks to establish and unlock this feature before they can begin customizing it. The outpost is accessible through a dedicated tab on the main screen, separate from raid activities.
Researching Topside Living Conditions
The first major step toward building your outpost involves photographic evidence. You need to take a picture of any farmland house found in the Ruined Homestead area. This location is situated on the Blue Gate map. It is advisable to equip a camera before venturing into this zone, as it is a common spawn point for Arc Raiders' enemies. Players may encounter Leapers, Bastions, or Bombardiers in this vicinity.
Upon completing this objective, players will be rewarded with an advanced camera blueprint. This initial phase requires careful navigation due to the presence of hostile forces.
Gathering Building Materials
Once the research phase is complete, players must gather specific resources to construct the outpost. The required materials include three planks, five sheets of metal, ten Arc alloy, and three advanced electrical components. As a reward for this collection effort, players will receive a red light stick blueprint.
Planks and sheet metal are new additions to the game's resource pool and are generally found commonly. For those looking to expedite the process, the NPC Celeste offers these materials in exchange for assorted seeds. Advanced electrical components can be crafted at an upgraded refiner workbench, requiring three wires and two electrical components per craft.
Safeguarding the Building Site
The final stage to completing the outpost involves combat objectives. Players must deal a total of 800 damage to flying Arc enemies and 300 damage to Bully-type enemies. Successfully completing these tasks yields a hotel chair design, 15 planks, and 5 durable cloths.
Pendola Pass is recommended as the primary location for achieving these combat goals. Skulkers, the flying enemies, are prevalent throughout the map and can be identified by their distinctive beeping sounds. Bullies are more commonly found in the central regions of the map. Players may also encounter other squads engaged with Bullies in these areas.
With the outpost construction finished, players can then proceed to furnish it with various decorative items and functional workbenches. Notably, the research station, essential for weapon amplification, can only be obtained through the completion of the outpost.
