Palworld players can now alter the appearance of their armor using a cosmetic system introduced in the game's March 2025 update, version 0.50. This update also brought crossplay and the Global Palbox. The new system enables players to change their armor's look independently of its statistical properties.
Crafting the Antique Dresser
To access the cosmetic armor system, players must first craft an Antique Dresser. This item can be unlocked at level 22 by spending one Ancient Technology Point. Its construction requires 20 wooden boards, 20 fiber, and 30 stone.
Applying Cosmetic Changes
Once the Antique Dresser is built, players should approach it and select the "Edit Character Outfit" option. This interface allows for the modification of headgear, body armor, and glider appearances. To apply the appearance of a specific armor piece, that armor must be present in the player's inventory when interacting with the dresser.
For example, if a player wishes for their character's armor to resemble Pelt Armor, they must have a piece of Pelt Armor in their inventory. The chosen cosmetic appearance will remain active even if the player later equips different armor. Any cosmetic armor pieces can then be removed from the inventory, as the character's appearance will not revert.
Players can return to the Antique Dresser at any time to change their character's outfit appearance again. The cosmetic armor system does not allow for color customization and is limited to applying the appearance of existing armor pieces found in the player's inventory.
