Dark Fragments are an essential resource in Palworld, needed for crafting powerful items such as the Xenolord's Saddle and accessories like the Triple Jump Boots. Players can obtain this material by defeating specific Dark-type Pals or by utilizing a breeding and disassembly method.
Several Dark-type Pals can yield Dark Fragments when defeated. These include Kitsun, Noct Splatterina, Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Celedsdir, Noct Starryon, Dazzi Noct, Omascul, and Solenne. As Dark-type Pals are vulnerable to Dragon-type attacks, it is advisable to bring strong Dragon-type Pals such as Azurobe, Silvegis, or Eidrolon when hunting these creatures.
An alternative method for acquiring Dark Fragments involves breeding Dark-type Pals and then disassembling them using the Pal Disassembly Conveyor. This structure unlocks at Technology Tree tier 56 and requires five Technology Points. Successful disassembly can yield Dark Fragments among other potential drops.
Some breeding combinations that can produce Pals which drop Dark Fragments include Anubis and Reptyro for Splatterina, Wumpo and Whalaska also for Splatterina, Relaxaurus and Quivern for Starryon, and Anubis and Elizabee or Reptyro and Quivern for Omascul. It is important to note that some Pals, like Bellanoir, can only be bred by combining two of the same parent type.
