Hardwood is a crucial material in Palworld, necessary for crafting advanced items such as large and giant pouches, as well as structures like the drafting table and the Japanese-style structure set. The material is obtained by cutting down trees found in environments with extreme weather conditions.
This includes the frozen trees in snowy mountain regions and the dead trees found in volcanic areas. While many trees can be harvested, only those native to these extreme regions will yield hardwood. Using a Pal Metal Axe significantly speeds up the process, yielding eight pieces of hardwood per swing compared to the one piece obtained with a regular axe.
Several locations are recommended for efficient hardwood farming.
Northern Cherry Tree Groves
On the northern side of the map, an island featuring the Moonflower Tower is covered in cherry trees that provide both hardwood and fiber. Players can fast travel to the Secluded Cemetery statue at coordinates (-668, 268) or the Moonflower Tower Entrance at (-607, 219) to access this area.
Anubis Dunes
The Anubis Dunes also contain clusters of trees. Fast traveling to the Anubis Dunes statue at coordinates (-127, -78) places players near these trees, making it a convenient spot for harvesting without extensive travel between tree clusters.
Mount Obsidian Volcanic Region
In the volcanic region of Mount Obsidian, located on the west side of the map, specific areas are ideal for hardwood farming. The area near the Mount Obsidian - Midpoint statue at coordinates (-499, -439) offers a good concentration of trees. Another effective spot is near the Mount Obsidian Trail statue on the northwestern side of the island, at coordinates (-835, -350), where trees are plentiful near the fast travel point.
Land of Absolute Zero
Players with high-tier cold-resistant gear can venture to the arctic island known as the Land of Absolute Zero, located north of the map at coordinates (-229, 501). This area is characterized by its challenging weather but is filled with frozen trees that yield hardwood. The central area of this island is particularly rich in harvestable trees.
Sand Dunes
On the northeastern side of the map, the Sand Dunes area, centered around coordinates (365, 338), also provides trees for hardwood collection. A fast-flying mount can be beneficial for traversing between tree clusters in this region.
