High Quality Pal Oil is a critical component for numerous crafting recipes in Palworld, most notably for creating Polymer. Polymer itself requires two units of High Quality Pal Oil, and it is then used in advanced items such as Grizzbolt's Minigun and various technological crafting stations. Efficiently acquiring this resource is key to progressing through the game's more complex crafting tiers.
There are three primary methods for obtaining High Quality Pal Oil: utilizing a Ranch, defeating specific Pals, or purchasing it from a merchant.
Utilizing a Ranch
One reliable way to generate High Quality Pal Oil is by assigning a Dumud Pal to a Ranch at your base. Once placed, the Dumud will periodically produce the oil. Increasing the number of Dumuds in the Ranch will accelerate production. Dumuds can be found in the Twilight Dunes, central Bamboo Groves, and southern Verdant Brook areas. An Alpha Dumud can also be located on Ice Wind Island, though its specific level may vary.
Defeating Specific Pals
A number of Pals, when defeated, will drop High Quality Pal Oil. These include Flambelle, Woolipop, Elphidran, Elphidran Aqua, Grintale, Mammorest, Mammorest Cryst, Relaxaurus, Relaxaurus Lux, Digtoise, Dumud, Dumud Gild, Sibelyx, Primo, Quivern, Quivern Botan, Xenogard, Solmora, Solmora Lux, Snock Lux, Eidrolon, Eirdrolon Ignis, Ophydia, and Loomen. For players early in the game, Woolipop is a recommended target. These Pals can be found east of the starting area within the Bamboo Groves. They are Neutral-type Pals, making them vulnerable to Dark-type attacks, which are prevalent at night in initial zones. Woolipop also often spawn near the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster fast travel point.
Purchasing from Merchants
High Quality Pal Oil can also be purchased for 300 Gold each from a Wandering Merchant located in Duneshelter. This merchant can be found near the fast travel point within the settlement. Reaching Duneshelter requires preparation for desert survival due to its location in the Dessicated Desert and the presence of high-level Pals, generally between levels 40 and 50. The merchant is typically found at coordinates 357, 346.
Once acquired, High Quality Pal Oil is essential for crafting items like Polymer, various weapon assembly lines, advanced fishing rods, armor pieces such as Legendary Plasteel Armor, and even specific Pal saddles like the Mammorest Cryst Saddle. It also contributes to crafting culinary items like Mammorest Curry and French Fries, as well as various elixirs and potions.
