How to Fast Travel in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse offers a vast map that expands from urban zombie-infested streets to the towering gothic architecture of Dracula's castle. Navigating this expansive world can be time-consuming, but the game provides two distinct fast travel systems to expedite your journey.

Ferryman's Wharf

The first method involves utilizing the Ferryman's Wharf, locations marked by a distinctive blue door and an eerie boatman. Players will first encounter the Ferryman in the Catacombs of Paris, typically after approximately three to five hours of gameplay, following an initial confrontation with Death. This encounter occurs at the bottom of the Collapsed Path of Orpheus, a challenging area filled with spikes and traversable Anchors.

After a difficult climb upwards, players will find a room with three skull pyres and two exits. The left exit leads to the Realm of Old Night, while the right exit, marked by a blue door, leads to the Ferryman's Wharf. Once spoken to, the Ferryman allows travel to other discovered Ferryman's Wharf locations. Players should look for a blue lantern icon on their map to identify these fast travel points.

Mirror of Life

The second fast travel method involves the Mirrors of Life, which function as save points. By crouching in front of a Mirror of Life for a short duration, players will be transported to the Hall of Mirrors. This area provides access to all previously discovered Mirror of Life save rooms within the player's current region. Travel to another Mirror of Life is initiated by crouching before its representation in the Hall of Mirrors.

Crucially, players can only travel to Mirror of Life locations they have already visited. Access between different levels of the Hall of Mirrors is restricted until later in the game. This makes the Mirror of Life system more suitable for quickly traversing within a specific region or for endgame backtracking.

Players may receive a hint about this mechanic from Eleanor, a queen trapped within the One-Way Mirror in the Main Hall. This area is typically accessible after five to seven hours of playtime. While Eleanor hints at kneeling and the nature of her confinement, attempting to interact with her directly does not trigger the fast travel ability.
