How to Fast Travel in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse offers an expansive map that eventually leads players from zombie-infested streets to Dracula's castle. Navigating this world can be time-consuming, and while fast travel points are common in the Castlevania series, they function slightly differently in this installment.

Two primary methods exist for fast travel in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, allowing players to access different regions of the map more efficiently.

Using the Ferryman's Wharf

The first encounter with the Ferryman occurs in the Catacombs of Paris, typically after approximately three to five hours of gameplay, following an initial battle with Death. Rose Belmont finds herself in the Collapsed Path of Orpheus, a challenging area filled with spikes and requiring precise use of her whip to traverse Anchors. After a significant climb, players will reach a room with three skull pyres and two exits. The left exit leads to the Realm of Old Night, while the right exit reveals an unusual blue door, signifying a Ferryman's Wharf.

Upon interacting with the Ferryman, players can use the adjacent altar to fast travel. This service allows travel to other discovered Ferryman's Wharf locations. Players should look for a blue lantern icon on their in-game map to identify these points.

Kneeling Before a Mirror of Life

A more discreet fast travel method involves interacting with Mirrors of Life, which function as save points. By crouching in front of a Mirror of Life for a short duration, Rose Belmont is transported to the Hall of Mirrors.

The Hall of Mirrors is structured by region, displaying all previously visited Mirror of Life save rooms within that area. To travel to another save room, players simply need to crouch before its representation. However, travel is restricted to Mirrors of Life that have already been discovered and unlocked, and inter-regional travel within the Hall of Mirrors is only available later in the game.

This method is best suited for quickly traversing within a single region or for endgame players revisiting areas for completion. The game provides a subtle hint about this mechanic through Eleanor, a queen imprisoned in the One-Way Mirror, located in the Main Hall. Upon discovering Eleanor, she prompts the player to "KNEEL," alluding to the crouch interaction required for Mirror of Life fast travel.
