Ancient Bark is a vital resource in Palworld for crafting several important armor pieces, including the Islander's Tool Belt, which boosts carry capacity, and the Pal Tamer's Glasses, which prevent a target's health from dropping below one and reveal hidden Pals. Acquiring this material requires a journey to a specific location and a bit of effort.
The primary source of Ancient Bark is the tree trunks found within the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary. This island is situated southeast of the Sea Breeze Archipelago and south of the Windswept Hills. Its precise location can be pinpointed on the in-game map.
Reaching the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary presents a navigational challenge, as it lacks any fast travel points. Players will need to rely on mounts, such as a flying creature like Quivern or a water mount like Jormuntide, to make the journey.
Upon arrival, players should look for specific tree stumps that emit a slight glow. Interacting with these stumps using any level of Axe will yield Ancient Bark. The efficiency of harvesting is directly related to the quality of the Axe used; a superior Axe will result in more Ancient Bark with fewer swings.
Currently, there are no Pals that drop Ancient Bark, nor is it available for purchase from Wandering Merchants as of version 1.0.
Once collected, Ancient Bark can be used in several crafting recipes. These include the Islander's Tool Belt, Pal Tamer's Glasses, the Air Walker Mk I accessory, and the Reptyro Charm accessory.
