Ancient Civilization Cores are a valuable and rare resource in Palworld, crucial for crafting powerful base upgrades such as the Ultra Shield and the Electric Egg Incubator. Obtaining these cores requires engaging with some of the game's more challenging content.
Defeating Raid Bosses
The most consistent method for acquiring Ancient Civilization Cores involves defeating specific Raid Bosses. At present, the Pals known to have a chance of dropping these cores include Hartalis, Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, and Blazamut Ryu. These Raid Bosses are distinct from regular Pals and Alpha Pals; they must be summoned at dedicated Summoning Alters. While players cannot capture the Raid Bosses themselves, they will receive an egg from which a non-boss version of the Pal can be hatched. The primary reward for defeating them, however, is the potential to loot valuable materials, including the sought-after Ancient Civilization Cores.
Exploring the Oil Rig
Another avenue for obtaining Ancient Civilization Cores is by opening the main chest found at the Oil Rig. This location is situated southeast of Marsh Island and is best reached using a Flying Mount. However, the Oil Rig is recommended for late-game players due to the high-level enemies present in the area.
Completing Pal Expeditions
Certain Pal Expeditions also offer Ancient Civilization Cores as a reward. Expeditions that can yield this item include the Frozen Cave of the Snow Mountain (Normal), Spirit Blossom Cave of Sakurajima (Normal), Dark Cave of Feybreak (Normal), and Ancient Feybreak Remains (Hard). To initiate Pal Expeditions, players must first construct a Pal Expedition Station. This station can be unlocked at level 22 and requires two Technology Points to access.
