Compounds are a new mechanic in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's DMZ mode, presenting players with fortified areas that require clearing to progress through certain missions, such as the "No One Left" order in the "Human Intel" chapter. Locating these compounds on the large Hajin map can be challenging, but they are marked by tent icons on the in-game minimap and star icons on the larger world map.
DMZ Compound Locations
There are six compounds scattered across the DMZ map. Players can find them at the following locations:
- South of the 14th Political Prison
- West of Cheongun Village
- East of Imjin Farmland
- West of Hajin River Heights
- North of Hajin River Heights
- South of Haneul Nuclear Reactor
Clearing a Compound
Each compound is a small, enclosed area typically defended by around ten enemies. To successfully clear a compound, players must eliminate all hostile forces within its perimeter. Successfully clearing a compound grants access to the area's loot, which often includes containers and sometimes a hidden safe. Players may find it beneficial to scout the compound's exterior for gaps in the walls, as these can offer alternative entry points instead of a direct frontal assault.
